George Krupp

CO-FOUNDER, TRUSTEE
& BOARD MEMBER

  • George Krupp (he/him) is a founding partner of The Berkshire Group, a real estate and financial services/investment company headquartered in Boston. Founded in 1969, The Berkshire Group has a specialized core competency in multifamily real estate investments.

    George received his undergraduate degree from Harvard Extension School, and holds a Masters Degree in History from Brown University.

    George is an Emeritus Trustee of the Gann Academy, Brandeis University, and Boston Symphony Orchestra. He also serves on the Board for the Krupp Family Foundation and the Keats-Shelley Association of America. George is based in Boston and enjoys time in the Berkshires, New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles.

Lizbeth Krupp

CO-FOUNDER, TRUSTEE
& BOARD MEMBER

  • Lizbeth Krupp (she/her) currently serves as Chair of the Board of Advisors for the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, a position she has held since 2014.  Her commitment to the arts also extends to her role as a trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts, where she serves on the Museum's Collections Committee and the Committee on Learning and Community Outreach. In addition, she is a trustee emerita of Boston Ballet. Lizbeth's influence and expertise are recognized in academic circles as well. As a graduate of Wellesley College, Liz is a member of the President's Advisory Council at Wellesley College.

    Alongside her husband, George Krupp, Lizbeth is a passionate collector and patron of contemporary art, including paintings, sculptures, and video art. Their collection also showcases an appreciation for history and diverse mediums, with Greek antiquities, journalistic photography, rare books, and antique dolls among their treasured acquisitions. Their focus on contemporary art in recent years highlights their commitment to supporting living artists and contributing to the cultural landscape.

    Liz is originally from Miami, FL, and is based between Boston, the Berkshires, Miami and New York City.

Michael Krupp

TRUSTEE
& BOARD MEMBER

  • Michael Krupp (he/him) is the Co-Founder of Lenox West Capital and the Managing Director of the George Krupp Family Office. During his more than 25 years in the real estate industry, Michael has worked in nearly every aspect of commercial multi-family real estate, including portfolio management, property operations, and acquisitions for the Berkshire Group; mortgage underwriting for Berkshire Mortgage Finance; and commercial property appraisals for Metropolitan Valuation Services. 

    Michael is the founder and owner of Area Four Restaurant Group, and he serves on the boards of Berkshire Residential Investments, The Krupp Family Foundation, and The New Roads School of Santa Monica. Michael is also a member of ULI, NMHC, PREA, and FOX. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University. He is an Associate Member of the Academy of Magical Arts, is a sequential puzzle aficianado, a three-legged dog rescuer, and has an extensive collection of hip hop artifacts. Michael lives between Los Angeles and the Berkshire Mountains with his wife and daughter.

Liana Krupp

FOUNDATION PRESIDENT, TRUSTEE
& BOARD MEMBER

  • Liana Krupp (she/her) is the President, Trustee, and Board Member of the Krupp Family Foundation and Director of the Phillip & Bernice Krupp Foundation for Jewish Life. Her work focuses on building economic, political, and cultural power for people who are most directly affected by white supremacy. Liana actively organizes with other funders to challenge the status quo of philanthropy. Her work has empowered her to step beyond the traditional role of a grant-maker, to become an active ally and advocate to partners, the Foundation's support. 

    Previous to her career in philanthropy, Liana worked in the fashion and digital media worlds for 15 years. Outside of her work, Liana is deeply engaged in the arts, serving as a supporter, steward, and advocate for socially engaged visual and performative work across North America. Liana lives between Los Angeles and the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts with her husband and daughter.

David Moy

BOARD MEMBER

  • David Moy (he/him) is most recently a Senior Advisor at the Hyams Foundation. He joined the Hyams Foundation in 2006 as the Program Officer for Community Organizing and Civic Engagement and was promoted to Senior Program Officer, Interim Executive Director, and Deputy Director. Prior to philanthropy, David started in community services as a youth worker and worked his way into program supervision and management in various non-profit settings. He served three years as the Regional Coordinator for the Jamaica Plain Community Centers, and sixteen years as the executive director of the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center.  

    In addition to his organizational roles, David has actively sought to engage in complementary and collaborative efforts that deepen organizational impact for marginalized communities. His commitment comes from and is grounded in his experience as a first-generation immigrant  growing up in Boston’s Chinatown and attending Boston Public Schools through the social turmoil of the 60s and 70s. David’s political awakening to social justice came from his experience as a student organizer at Brandeis University during the early years of the Divest from South Africa movement. That awakening has deepened to a life-long commitment to organizing for justice, democracy, and progressive social change.

Larry Silverstein

TRUSTEE
& BOARD MEMBER

  • Larry Silverstein (he/him) is a Retired Partner at Morgan Lewis & Brockius LLP with a focus on tax, corporate, and real estate planning and has been involved in partnership and real estate transactions as well as corporate acquisitions and sales. He focuses on counseling entrepreneurs in a wide range of businesses. His engagements cover a range from real estate companies and funds to biotechnology and social media companies as well as various basic industries groups. He has also been involved in a number of venture capital transactions.  

    He has counseled a number of charitable foundations. Larry is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Dartmouth College.  After graduating Harvard Law School (Magna Cum Laude), Larry clerked for Justice Herbert P. Wilkins on the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.

Naomi Orensten

BOARD MEMBER

  • Naomi Orensten (she/her) serves as Senior Director of Programs and Strategy at the Dorot Foundation. In her role leading the foundation’s grantmaking, Naomi is fueled by her commitment to equitable, effective funder practices and Dorot’s values of justice, proximity, and trust.

    Prior to this role, Naomi worked at the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP), where she served as Director of Research and Director of Assessment and Advisory Services. An expert on philanthropic effectiveness, Naomi has been a frequent speaker to foundation staff and boards on topics of philanthropic effectiveness, and authored numerous research reports and resources for funders. Previously, Naomi worked in nonprofit program and fundraising roles in the fields of education, civil rights, human services, and civic engagement.  

    A first-generation college graduate from rural northern Wisconsin, Dorot’s mission —a just and equitable society in which all can reach their fullest potential — deeply resonates with Naomi. She holds an EdM in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Brandeis University. She has served on the board of human rights nonprofit B’Tselem USA, has been a volunteer mentor for first-gen college students, is a member of a nationwide giving circle, and is an alumni of the Dorot Fellowship. Naomi lives in Cambridge, MA with her spouse and two kids. Outside of work, she enjoys experiencing the world from the perspective of her high energy kiddos and borrowing cookbooks from the library to test out new recipes.

Gabriella Mora

VICE PRESIDENT,
PROGRAMS & STRATEGY

  • Gabriella Mora, MPH (she/her) currently serves as the Vice President of Programs and Strategy at the Krupp Family Foundation, a Boston-based private family foundation whose mission is to invest its resources in movements working to build cultural, political, and economic power for people and communities most directly impacted by systems of oppression. She provides strategic and operational leadership and is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of foundation programs. 

    Gabriella was born and raised in Philadelphia and earned her bachelor’s and master's degrees in Public Health from Temple University. She previously worked at The Food Trust where she developed and honed expertise in policy change, coalition building, research, program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Throughout her career, she has taught public health courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 

    Outside of her work in philanthropy, she serves on the boards of the Chica Project, the Fenway Community Center, and Episcopal City Mission. Gabriella loves good books, loud music, and live sports. Go Birds!
